Description

Borgo Scopeto 2016 Chianti Classico
100% Sangiovese | Alc: 12.5% – Earthy
Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

Winemaker’s notes:
Scopeto 2014 Chianti Classico is dark ruby red with a bouquet that is full and intense but at the same time sweet and fruity, with hints of black soft fruit. Pleasant overtone of noble wood, vanilla and cocoa and a surprising cherry finish. Dry, firmly structured, austere and elegant on the palate; well balanced. Excellent persistence of the flavor on the palate.

The perfect wine to accompany the entire meal, especially thick soups, all kinds of meat and half-mature cheese.

Critical Acclaim:
“This is already showing some attractive tertiary character, including leather, tar and earth, in addition to dried cherries and red plums. Full body, ripe and round tannins and a fruit-driven finish. Drink in 2020.” 91 Pts – James Suckling

“Round and expressive, boasting cherry, raspberry, leather and earth flavors that echo on the finish, this is firmed up by sinewy tannins, remaining fresh and long. Drink now through 2028.” 90 Pts – Wine Spectator
