Senorio de Barahonda 2014 Barrica
75% Monastrell, 25% Syrah | Alc: 14.5% – Big and Bold
Yecla, Spain

Winemaker’s notes:
A big, thick, juicy, dense purple-colored effort, it reveals lots of blackberry and cassis fruit intermixed with hints of camphor, licorice and spicy oak. This medium to full-bodied, luscious, fruity, crowd-pleaser should keep for 3-4 years.

Critical Acclaim:
“The outstanding 2012 Barahonda Barrica (75% Monastrell and 25% Syrah aged six months in French oak) exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as copious notes of blackberries, licorice, camphor, white flowers and pepper. This ripe, medium-bodied, opulent, fleshy red should drink well for several years. It’s a real winner at this price point”  91 Pts – The Wine Advocate

“Opaque ruby. Powerful dark berry, floral pastille and licorice scents, with good clarity, energy, and a smoky nuance that builds in the glass. On the palate, tangy acidity energizes and gives structure to juicy blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. The rich but lively finish offers strong closing thrust and supple, even, gripping tannins.”  90 Pts – Vinous
