Rodano 2013 Chianti Classico Vigna Viacosta
100% Sangiovese | Alc: 14.5% – Smooth and Earthy
Chianti Classico, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy

Winemaker’s notes:
This wine is “classic” classico! Winemaker Enrico Pozzesi feels very strongly about not blending Cabernet or Merlot with Sangiovese in his Chianti Classico wines. He allows plenty of time to slowly mature his Chianti Classico, preferring large oak barrels for extended aging. The 2013 vintage shows truffle and sweet cherry fruit aromas and leafy underbrush flavors. A little dry, yet silky in texture and full of sweet fruit.

Pairs perfectly with pizza, pasta, tomato-based dishes, braised vegetables, roasted and cured meat, hard cheese or anything off the barbecue.

Critical Acclaim:
“This is a spectacular effort with a full and generous approach. The 2013 Chianti Classico Vigna Viacosta drinks beautifully, imparting elegant fruit and savory notes of tobacco and spice along the way. Candied cherry, moist earth and balsam herb add more dimension at the back. The finish is smooth, supple and long. Count on this wine to evolve slowly over the next ten years.” 93+ Pts – Wine Advocate
