Long Shadows 2019 Feather Cabernet Sauvignon
100% Cabernet Sauvignon | Alc: 14.8%
Columbia Valley, Washington

Winemaker’s notes:
Feather 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is dark and concentrated in color with depth that’s consistent with its intense flavor profile and texture. A generous wine that offers ripe black fruit character, notes of fresh plums and a hint of dried herbs. The mouthfeel has structure and richness that mingles with elegant tannins to create a complex, fully integrated impression. Drinking beautifully in its youth, this wine also has enough tannin and bright fruit to benefit from a long life in the cellar.
The 2019 Feather combines three distinct Washington state Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions to create a complex, layered wine. Weinbau (Wahluke Slope) and Dionysus (White Bluffs) vineyards comprise the majority of the finished blend. Weinbau gives the wine structure, and Dionysus lends a lush, dark character. The remaining quarter of the blend is from a handful of top Horse Heaven Hills vineyards selected for refined, silky tannins and appealing earthiness.

Critical Acclaim:
“All Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Feather is a rich, powerful wine loaded with notions of cassis, graphite, scorched earth, and crushed stone. Full-bodied on the palate and concentrated, it has building tannins, a great mid-palate, and the balance and class to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age and, I suspect, evolve for decades.” 95 Pts – Jeb Dunnuck

“Refined and keenly structured, with expressive blackberry, mocha and dusky spices that take on tension toward broad-shouldered tannins. Drink now through 2030.” 93 Pts – Wine Spectator

“Aromas of ripe red and black cherry, white smoke and thyme. Full-bodied with slightly chewy tannins. A rich note of licorice and leather on the palate. Coffee and overturned earth as well. Good complexity and balance. Best after 2024.” 92 Pts – James Suckling
