Force Majeure 2014 Parabellum GSM
61% Syrah, 39% Mourvédre | Alc: 15.1% – Big and Bold
Red Mountain, Columbia Valley, Washington
Parabellum is Force Majeure’s “Second Wine” — wine crafted from estate fruit produced by younger blocks in our vineyard. Our goal with Parabellum is to produce two beautiful, approachable and complex wines at lower price points. Parabellum wines are meant to be enjoyed in their youth, as opposed to consuming after aging a number of years in the cellar, as one might do with our main estate wine lineup.
“A blend of 61% Syrah, 39% Mourvédre, the 2014 Parabellum Bordeaux is an entry-level wine that way over-delivers. Blackcurrants, graphite, lots of minerality, chocolate and just a touch of floral notes all flow to a rich, medium to full-bodied, nicely concentrated and balanced Bordeaux blend that’s going to drink nicely for at least 7-8 years, and my money is on even longer.” 92 Points – The Wine Advocate
“This wine is 61% Syrah and 39% Mourvèdre. Appealing aromas of red and black fruit, mineral, spice, earth and braised meat lead to a full bodied, still quite tightly wound palate. All the stuffing is there but it needs some additional time in bottle or a short decant to open up” 92 Points – Wine Enthusiast
