Crous St. Martin 2016 CdP Rouge Hommage á I’an 1879
80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre | Alc: 14% – Smooth & Supple
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhone, France

Winemaker’s notes:
Crous St. Martin pays homage to the year 1879, which is the year St. Martin’s Cross (Crous) was installed by the monks to signal the road to Chateauneuf.
A beautiful clean ruby color. The nose will reveal aromas of cherry, mulberry, and fine spices. Sensual mouthfeel expressing depth and smoothness with aromas of kirsch, blackcurrant, followed by fine spices such as thyme, licorice, and white pepper. Tannins are present but are polished and silky. Complex wine with roundness, power, and a long mouthfeel.

Critical Acclaim:
“Crous St Martin’s 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape is 80% Grenache, with the balance split between Mourvèdre and Syrah. Aged in concrete and older barrels, it’s full-bodied and creamy-ripe in texture, with notes of mixed cherries, cinnamon and mocha. It’s supple and smooth from start to finish, but it should have the stuffing to age for a decade.”  93 Pts – Wine Advocate
