Winemaker’s notes:
Chimères Côtes du Roussillon Villages – According to Jean Marc Lafage, who purchased Saint-Roch, the Catalan sun combined with the refractive qualities of the schist in the soil gives these vineyards a unique light. The vineyards range in altitiude from 400-1100 feet and are surrounded by fields of wild herbs.

Critical Acclaim:
“The 2014 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Chimeres is mostly Grenache, yet includes 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre. Aged in a combination of concrete tank and demi-muid, it makes the most of this difficult vintage and has terrific purity in its raspberry, violet, licorice and olive-laced aromas and flavors. Ripe, nicely textured and with bright acidity, drink it over the coming 4-5 years. Drink: 2015-2020.” 90-92 Pts – The Wine Advocate
