Winemaker’s notes:
Chateau de Manissy 2021 Tavel Cuvee des Lys Rosé has powerful, mineral-accented aromas of ripe red berries and citrus fruits, joined by a suave, floral top note that builds in the glass. Sappy and concentrated on the palate, offering fresh raspberry, bitter cherry, and blood orange flavors and a hint of honeysuckle. Finishes long, chewy, and precise, delivering strong mineral cut and lingering florality.
Organic! Pairs well with salads, grilled tuna, Salade Nicoise, pork, chicken, bouillabaisse and mild cheeses.
Critical Acclaim:
“Subtle notes of dried sage and oregano on the nose accent bright raspberry and red plum flavors on the palate of this full-bodied yet briskly balanced rosé. A pale ruby Grenache-based blend of Syrah and Clairette, it’s a fresh, fruity sip held upright by a spine of blood orange acidity and a subtly stony finish.” 89 pts – Wine Enthusiast
“Quite a pale-colored wine for this appellation with bright redcurrant and dried cranberry fruit. The full-ish body is well supported by pithy tannins and enough acidity to balance and refresh.” 90 pts – James Suckling
