Delamotte Brut NV Champagne
55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 10% Pinot Meunier | Alc: 12.5% –Dry, Effervescent
Delamotte – A great champagne is first and foremost a great wine!
This is the golden rule in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, where Delamotte was founded in 1760. If Delamotte is one of the five oldest champagne houses, it is because we respect the traditions, we are dedicated to flavor, and we craft our wines in the heart of the legendary Côte des Blancs terroir.
A blend of approximately 55% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier, which combine to give a wine of subtle power, appealing freshness, soft curves, and a precise, fresh fruit finish. Aged on the lees for 30-36 months, Delamotte Brut receives a light dosage of 7 g/l.
It is equally suitable as an aperitif or an accompaniment to a fruit dessert.
“Quite impressive richness and gently toasty aromas on the nose here with almond, savory and sweet, bready autolysis notes. The palate has a fresh, succulent and smooth feel with soft, citrusy fruit flesh. Holds long. Drink now.” 92 Pts – James Suckling
“Floral nose, with a hint of soft spice and nectarine; palate is dry but not austere, with stone fruit and a fine mineral tension. Cerebral, satisfying and impressively wrought.
Drinking Window 2018 – 2022” 93 Pts – Decanter
“The Delamotte NV Brut is a bright, fresh and aromatic blend. It starts with fresh, bright fruit aromas intermixed with lovely brioche and nougat aromas and a delicate Kirsch tone. Mouthfilling, fine and fresh on the palate, this is a charming but serious Champagne from one of the region’s oldest houses.” 90 Pts – Robert Parker
“Crisp and minerally, with smoke and chalk accents underscoring the rich notes of lemon curd, glazed apricot and spring blossom, this chiseled Champagne is elegant and well- knit. Drink now through 2022.” 91 Pts – Wine Spectator
“Based in the Chardonnay region of the Côte des Blancs, it’s no surprise that this producer has a dominance of that grape in its blend. The wine has great minerality as well as tight acidity and delicious citrus flavors. It’s a dry, finely balanced wine to drink now.” 92 Pts – Wine Enthusiast
“The Delamotte Brut Champagne is fantastic effort. Immediately you are greeted with inviting aromas of orchard fruits, toasted brioche, salted pear and macadamia nut. The wine shows off its classy mousse with a kiss of sweetness on the mid-palate. Sourdough bread and baked apple flavors all mingle with the wonderful sense of balance and tension that runs through the core of the wine. Enjoy this beautiful wine over now or with some short term cellaring” 91 Pts – International Wine Report
