Description
Bohigas Cava Brut Reserva NV
55% Xarel·lo, 30% Macabeu, 15% Parellada | Alc: 12%
Anoia River Basin, Òdena, Spain
Winemaker’s notes:
Bohigas Cava is pale yellow with fine bubbles forming a constant rosary and persistent crown. Very fresh aroma of white fruit (tart apple and pear) on notes of citric rind and white flowers.Spicy bouquet due to aging (cinnamon) and biscuits. A structured cava on the palate, well balanced acidity that tenses the whole from beginning to finish. The bubble gives a sensation of creaminess, providing volume and softness to the structure bestowed by the acidity and extending the aromas of white fruit and spices that repeat on the palate. Balanced finish that harmonizes its acidity, leaving behind a sensation of freshness and volume due to its slight content in sugars.
Pairing: Fish, rice dishes and dried fruit and nuts. It is also the ideal cava to accompany a whole meal.
Critical Acclaim:
“My favorite of the two sparkling Cavas is the non-vintage Brut Reserva Cava. Made from a classic blend (for this area) of Xarel-lo, Macabeo and Parellada planted in limestone and clay soils, the wine spends 24 months on its lees before disgorgement. It is an excellent value for consumers looking for alternatives to French Champagne. Lemon/lime, crushed rock and white currant notes are present in this crisp, elegant, refreshing, zesty, dry sparkler. Hints of wheat thins and brioche add complexity. Enjoy this medium-bodied offering over the next 1-2 years.” 90 Pts – Wine Advocate
“Dusty, leesy aromas of apple and vanilla are sturdy. This brut Cava is fresh and modestly elegant on the palate, with lime, apple and tarragon flavors. A dry, confident finish offers apple and citrus flavors and a sense of ease.” 89 Pts – Wine Enthusiast
